Space-Saving Murphy Beds
Murphy beds are a practical addition to any small space that needs to work double duty. When folded into the wall, they free up square footage to be used for other purposes, and when folded down, they offer a cozy place for guests to rest. This clever design feature is perfect for small-space dwellers who could use the extra room when the bed is not in use.

To create room for guests, a home office and book storage in a small, narrow space in an Ottawa, Ontario, apartment, designer Deborah Gerbis had to find an outside-the-box solution. We chose maple cabinetry with a medium stain to complement the floor and included frosted-glass elements to keep the unit from feeling imposing in such a narrow room," she says.
