Flip the Strip on HGTV

The men in this handsome foursome have many talents. Yes, they're the stars of renovation show, Flip the Strip — now streaming on Max — but they're also headliners for Australia's Thunder from Down Under, a male strip-tease show in Las Vegas. While the foursome may be best known for their dance moves, on HGTV they show off more than just their jaw-dropping physiques. Ahead, learn more about Ben Cleary, Dan Paterson, Liam Black and Malik Wills-Martin.

About the Show

Dancers and expert tradesmen Ben, Dan, Liam and Malik work alongside interior designer Kelly Stone to put their renovation know-how to the test. Throughout the six-episode season, these heartthrobs work together to transform drab desert dwellings into glitzy Vegas-inspired homes, proving they know how to work a room in more ways than one.

Meet Daniel Paterson

Daniel is the team's project manager and carpenter. Back in his home city of Narre Warren, Victoria, Australia, Dan was a tradie, the term Australians use to describe hands-on tradespeople: plumbers, electricians and carpenters. As skilled as he is at building, Dan never thought carpentry was his end game. “I [couldn't] see myself just being a carpenter,” he told 9 News back in 2018.“ I always felt like I was made for something more. I always pictured myself under the big lights, all eyes on you, for the world to see what you’ve created.” Now, thanks to Flip the Strip, even more eyes have landed on Dan.

Ready to Show Off

“Between Ben, Malik, Liam and I, we have a ton of experience in the construction industry from our time before Australia’s Thunder from Down Under,” Dan told HGTV in an interview. “We are here in the United States to perform, but we also want to try our hand at building a business and deliver the best possible renovations to our clients.” To see more spicy photos of Daniel, follow him on Instagram @mrdanpaterson.

Meet Liam Black

Liam brings his painting and finishing prowess to Flip the Strip. The tall, dark and handsome renovator fell in love with the arts in high school and learned to apply his creative knowledge to the world of demo and redesign.

Business Savvy

Liam doesn't only dabble in renovation and dancing, though. Back in February 2023, the brunette tradie also founded his own CBD company, Nano Recover, which he markets as a means for self-care. To keep up with Liam, follow him on Instagram @liam__black.

Meet Ben Cleary

Ben (Benny) shows off his carpentry skills on Flip the Strip. Hailing from City of Clarence, Tasmania, Australia, Benny has a love for the water, animals and nature. On his Instagram, Ben can be seen riding horses, surfing, hiking and engaging in winter sports.

Natural Inspiration

Meet Malik Wills-Martin

Malik Wills-Martin does a little bit of everything on Flip the Strip. Of the four, he's the "demo and 'do-it-all' ace.' From Frankston, Victoria, Australia, Malik splits his time between dancing, demo and personal training. According to his Instagram, he's a certified fascia stretch practitioner and online health coach.

Kitchen Time

Malik likes to spend his spare time in the kitchen, whipping up breakfast tacos, roasted turkeys, sweet potato fries and more. "I’ll tell y’all a secret!
